Mother's Day Craft and Activities

Mother’s Day is a great way for kids to show their appreciation to their moms by creating a special card or gift!

Check out Kid President’s Mother’s Day message here:

Here are a few projects we made this Mother’s Day. I couldn’t decide which I liked better, so we made both!

If you’re looking for an easy craft, try these out.

What you’ll need:
Tiles (4x4) from hardware store, acrylic paint, con-tac paper cut in the shape of a heart (peeled off after), sharpie marker, felt pads/circles (to prevent scratching on bottom of time) and spray sealer for a glossy finish when you are done.

The students also wrote their own My Mom Book for their Mom. The responses and insight on their moms cracked me up.  If you’d like to make your own book, you can check it out here.

We also made this incredible Agamograph by Art with Jenny K.  It's two images that change depending on how you look at it.  It's a great concept and they came out amazing!

Feel free to share your own Mother's Day Craft or activities you did with your kids.  Here are some other creative ideas from other teachers...

Fawn Wessel made these adorable magnets with 2x2 canvas pieces and mod podged them afterwards and added a magnet piece on back!

Melissa Dyer painted canvases and mod podged photos of the kids with heart hands on the front. Then they wrote letters telling mom what we loved best about her!

Ms. Axtell's partner teacher made this template. The kids draw a picture of them & their mom (color book style) Then they made stationary and the kids painted each pic differently.
