Fabulous Pinterest Pics for September!

I’m joining up with Marissa from the Inspired Owl's Corner, Lisa from PAWSitively Teaching, and  Ashley from Just Reed! for the Pinterest Pick 3 Linky.  Come join the fun in finding some wonderful ideas to help us through September.

The first is a favorite of mine.  I love these coloring books by Krista Wallden.  She’s created others and they are just as awesome. What makes them even better is that they are all free!  With the crazy weather being too hot, too cold, or just rainy, these are great for indoor recess or for free time. My kids always ask when the next month’s sheets will be out.

Here are some of her coloring sheets from February:

#2 has two parts- organization in the classroom and something to help you keep all the class files organized.  I've always struggle with keeping stuff organized on Google Docs, so when I discovered this post about color coding and numbering your folders,it was a game changer!  Since I'm such a visual person, everything is easier to find and it's very simple!

I love this next pin because for just a brief moment, on the first day of school- everything is pristine!  The crayons have perfect tips, the pencils are all the same size with no chew marks, and all seems right in the world and then the little ones enter.  So, I love any trick that could help keep me organized all through the year.

The third pin is another favorite- the What If Anchor chart.  We’ve all had the kid... What if my crayon breaks? What if I’m thirsty? What if I finish early?  I love the approach to these burning questions that kids have so that they don’t interrupt important instructional time and are able to learn to problem solve on their own.

If this was the top 4 Pinterest picks, I'd have to add this lovely poster to hang in your classroom.  There are 2 choices to choose from.  I love how it sets such a positive atmosphere to the class.

July Pinterest Pick 3 Linky!

I’m joining up with Marissa from the Inspired Owl's Corner, Lisa from PAWSitively Teaching, and  Ashley from Just Reed! for the Pinterest Pick 3 Linky.  Come join the fun in finding some fresh ideas for July!

Since most of us are already out of school, I choose a combination of fun/school items that will be great to kick off to the summer.

For those of you with kids, nieces, nephews, etc  Here’s a fun calendar with lots of great ideas for summer activities to keep the little ones occupied.

I also saw this shark game which was too cute not to share!

Here’s a little something for you to sit back and enjoy the summer.  It’s perfect for July 4th!

Here's a fun drink for the kids!

Even though summer might be in full swing, I know there’s a little part of you that’s still thinking about getting ready for school in September. So, when I saw these bags, I thought they would be an easy-to-make welcome back bag to fill with goodies of your choice!

September Ideas Pick 3 Linky

I'm linking up with Pawsitively Teaching and the Inspired Owl! for this month’s Pinterest Pick 3 to give us some fresh ideas for back to school.  I love finding all of these ideas and have definitely incorporated them into my class. Enjoy!

I love this All About Me Silhouette.  It’s such a creative way to allow kids to tell more about themselves and create a dialogue.  It would also be fun to try to guess each other’s artwork.

So I realize this isn't a pin for the classroom, but it'll help you get there on time and I couldn't help but share. Picture it: It’s 7 am and you take one look in your closet and it’s going to be one of those days when you just can’t figure out what to wear.  This idea is fabulous and I’m sure even better for getting your kids off to school as well.  Pick out the outfits for the week without thinking- no coffee needed!  A totally doable DIY idea.  You could also apply this to organizing your teaching materials weekly as well!

In September, it’s all about establishing routines, procedures and rules.  I like the idea of having a class promise. It’s like rules with a positive twist. Here are some different ideas.

Click here for post- this was the link, but it wasn't working properly

Follow up from August. I was inspired by last month’s linky ideas to create a fresh look in my classroom and paint some of my furniture. It was slightly obsessive, so after several trips to home depot, I gave a fresh look to a lot of furniture in my room and pretty much anything else I could get my hands on.  Here are some pics to share:

The bookshelf had seen better days.

A little polka dot flair:

Magazine Rack...There's no before picture, but think 1970's wood color.
Perfect for holding our class books!

Book Rack- I think it looks "beachy" now =)

I love this chair! There are also lots of other author’s chairs to find some inspiration. I’m headed to home depot now to pick out my paint

This will be a great idea to keep next to my computer not just for the kid’s passwords but for mine as well!  There are always so many passwords to keep track of and the colors will be helpful to find them easily.

The Toothpaste Squirt Lesson is a great back to school lesson on teaching children about choosing their words carefully and thinking about the impact it has on others.
It reminds me very much of the wrinkled heart activity we did in our class. If you’d like to download the wrinkled heart poster- it’s free and will explain how it’s done.

Join in the fun and have a great start to school.
